Sri Lanka recorded 42,810 tourist arrivals during the first six days of August, according to the latest data released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).
India remained the leading source market during the period, with 7,827 tourists arriving from the country, accounting for approximately 18% of the total arrivals.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka welcomed 4,922 tourists from the United Kingdom, 3,908 from France, and 3,031 from China during the first six days of August.
According to the latest figures, Sri Lanka recorded a total of 1,386,228 tourist arrivals between January 1 and August 6, 2026.
Of the total arrivals recorded so far this year, 346,057 tourists were from India, while 135,323 visitors arrived from the United Kingdom.
The latest figures indicate continued strong demand from Sri Lanka’s key international tourism markets as the country’s tourism sector maintains its recovery and growth momentum.
