The case fatality rate currently stands at 0.07 percent. The highest number of cases was reported in July, with 29,973 cases, followed by June, which recorded 21,533 cases. A further 4,292 cases have been reported in August as of midnight on August 9.
Gampaha has recorded the highest number of cases at 19,067, accounting for 21.27 percent of the national total. Colombo follows with 14,967 cases (16.70%), while Kandy has reported 6,366 cases (7.10%). Matara and Kalutara have recorded 5,735 and 4,914 cases, respectively.
The Western Province remains the most affected, accounting for 47,448 cases, or 52.93 percent of the total. The Southern Province has reported 11,761 cases (13.12%), while the Central Province has recorded 7,208 cases (8.04%).
Meanwhile, 119 Medical Officer of Health (MOH) areas were classified as high-risk during Week 31 of 2026, with an average of 1,509 new dengue cases being reported daily.
Health authorities have urged the public to take preventive measures and eliminate mosquito breeding sites to help curb the spread of dengue.
