The Colombo–Kandy main road has been reopened to traffic after being temporarily closed due to a rockfall in the Kadugannawa area.
The road was shut down earlier as a precaution after rocks fell onto the roadway, posing a risk to motorists. Following the clearance of the debris and safety inspections by the relevant authorities, the route has now been declared safe for travel.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution when travelling through the Kadugannawa area, particularly during periods of adverse weather, as there remains a possibility of further rockfalls.
