A man was injured in a shooting incident reported at Mirissa Junction yesterday (July 31), according to police.
Police said the shooting was carried out by two unidentified assailants who arrived at the scene on a motorcycle before opening fire on the victim. Following the attack, the suspects fled the area.
The injured individual was rushed to the Matara District General Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment. His condition has not yet been officially disclosed.
Police have launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the suspects.
