
Sri Lanka has once again earned international recognition as veteran actors Mahendra Perera and Priyantha Sirikumara received prestigious honours at the 9th Malaysia International Film Festival, bringing pride to the country's film industry.
Competing in one of the festival's most competitive categories, Mahendra Perera won the Best Actor award, while Priyantha Sirikumara was honoured with the Best Supporting Actor award. Both actors received the accolades for their outstanding performances in the critically acclaimed Sri Lankan film Riverstone, which has been widely praised for its artistic excellence and compelling storytelling.
Representing the Riverstone team at the international festival, Randika Gunatilake and other members of the production attended the event, where they had the opportunity to meet internationally renowned Indian filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. The meeting provided a valuable platform for exchanging ideas on global cinema trends and fostering international industry connections.
