Sri Lanka has reported more than 65,000 dengue cases so far in 2026, while the number of dengue-related deaths has risen to 45, according to the National Dengue Control Unit (NDCU).

The NDCU stated that 65,034 dengue cases have been recorded nationwide this year, with 9,654 cases reported during the first eight days of July alone.

The Gampaha District has reported the highest number of infections, with 13,332 cases, followed closely by the Colombo District, which has recorded 13,150 cases.

Meanwhile, Matara District has reported 4,600 cases, while Kalutara District has recorded 4,354 cases, according to the latest figures released by the National Dengue Control Unit.
