The 17th contingent of the Sri Lanka Force Protection Company (SLFPC) who set to embark on its peacekeeping mission under the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) accorded a ceremonial salute to Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, at the parade ground of the Gemunu Watch (GW) on 04 July 2026.
Following the ceremonial parade, the Commander of the Army addressed the contingent, stressing the importance of complying with United Nations regulations while serving in Lebanon. He also highlighted the significance of international peacekeeping missions for both the nation and the Army.
Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and family members of the contingent participated in the event.
