Lieutenant General (Retd.) Muhammad Ali, Secretary of the Ministry of Defence of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, paid a courtesy call on Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal (Retd.) Sampath Thuyacontha during his official visit to Sri Lanka.

The meeting took place today (02) at the Ministry of Defence in the Defence Headquarters Complex, Sri Jayawardenepura, Kotte, while the Pakistani official is in the country to participate in the 6th Pakistan–Sri Lanka Armed Forces Defence Dialogue.

According to the Ministry of Defence, the two officials held cordial discussions on a range of bilateral issues, including ongoing defence cooperation, military-to-military exchanges, training opportunities, and ways to further strengthen collaboration in areas of shared strategic interest.

The discussions also focused on enhancing the long-standing defence partnership between Sri Lanka and Pakistan through the Defence Dialogue framework.

Also attending the meeting were Rear Admiral Amir Mahmood, Additional Secretary of Defence of Pakistan, Major General (Retd.) Dr. Nayyar Naseer, Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, and Colonel Muhammad Farooq, Defence Advisor to the High Commission of Pakistan.
