The Most Venerable Narampanawa Ananda Thero, Anunayake of the Asgiri Chapter of the Malwathu–Asgiri Siyam Maha Nikaya and a distinguished scholar, has been appointed as the new Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya.
The official letter of appointment was presented to the Most Venerable Thero by Presidential Secretary Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake at the Presidential Secretariat this afternoon (02).
The appointment was made by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and takes effect from July 2.
