Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has extended his congratulations to the Communist Party of China on its 105th anniversary, praising the party's role in transforming China into a leading global economic and technological power.
In a special anniversary message, Premadasa commended the CPC's commitment to economic reform, modernization, innovation, and inclusive development. He said the party's governance model has helped China achieve rapid economic progress while promoting shared prosperity, social equity, and fairness.
The Opposition Leader noted that Sri Lanka could draw important lessons from China's development journey, particularly its reform and opening-up policies and its consistent focus on effective implementation.
Premadasa also highlighted the importance of peace and cooperation across Asia, expressing hope for continued strong relations between China and India as key contributors to regional stability and global progress.
Drawing parallels between the CPC's modern economic policies and the principles of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya, Premadasa reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening party-to-party ties and further deepening the longstanding friendship between Sri Lanka and China.
