The final report regarding the disappearance of USD 2.5 million from the State Treasury will be presented to Parliament in the near future, Dr. Harsha de Silva, Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Committee on Public Finance (COPF) said.

The MP pointed out that the report has already been compiled based on the clarifications and submissions provided by both the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL). Dr. de Silva further stated that the draft report has currently been distributed among all members of the Finance Committee for their review.

Elaborating on the process, MP Harsha de Silva stated:

"We held three rounds of discussions with the Central Bank and the Treasury. They submitted two separate reports. The Central Bank submitted a separate report because they did not agree with many of the points presented by the Treasury. Therefore, we analyzed both sides. We have now prepared a draft and handed it over to the committee members to read and submit their feedback. Once their observations are received, we hope to finalize the report next Tuesday and present it to Parliament the following week. As the Chairman, I cannot present it based solely on my own wishes; we will analyze all viewpoints, reach a consensus, and then table the report."
