Upon arriving at the temple, the Prime Minister met with the Chief Incumbent, Venerable Bellanwila Dhammarathana Nayaka Thera, and engaged in a cordial discussion. She then participated in religious observances at the sacred Bo Tree shrine and received blessings.
The Prime Minister officially declared the Poson Zone open to the public by illuminating the festival grounds with ceremonial lighting.
She also attended a devotional song performance presented by students of the temple’s Dhamma School.
The event was attended by members of the Maha Sangha, Member of Parliament Lakshman Nipuna Arachchi, Chairman of the Boralesgamuwa Municipal Council Nishantha Wedamulla, distinguished invitees, local residents, and a large number of devotees.
