Police investigations revealed that the suspect used a specific modus operandi, contacting institutions that pay income tax via telephone while pretending to be a tax official. He would then request financial assistance under the guise of urgent personal needs, convincing victims to deposit money directly into his bank accounts.
Further investigations have uncovered that this is not an isolated incident; the suspect had previously been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for a similar financial fraud offence. The Slave Island Police are conducting further legal proceedings.
