Speaking on the matter, the Deputy Minister noted that many individuals are unaware of their TIN status because the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has not sent the numbers to recipients by post.
He advised the public to verify their TIN status by visiting the Inland Revenue Department's official website and entering their National Identity Card (NIC) number.
The government has encouraged taxpayers to check their TIN status online to ensure they have access to their tax identification details as the registration process continues.
