Deputy Minister of Energy, Ilyas Mahammad Arkam, has requested rooftop solar consumers with systems generating over 300 units to switch off their solar panel systems from tomorrow (27) until the 29th, in a bid to maintain the stability of the national power grid.
Speaking in Parliament today (26), the Deputy Minister explained that temporarily deactivating these systems will help prevent sudden grid failures and blackouts, similar to the widespread power disruption experienced during the recent Vesak festival.
