Deputy Minister of Finance Anil Jayantha Fernando said the meetings will examine the country’s current economic situation, ongoing reforms, and key challenges facing the economy.
He explained that the discussions form part of the preparatory process leading up to the IMF’s seventh review under Sri Lanka’s economic reform programme.
The IMF team is also expected to evaluate the country’s recent economic performance and progress in implementing agreed reform measures during its visit.
Meanwhile, the delegation met with officials of Sri Lanka Customs yesterday ( 25) to review the progress of ongoing reforms and assess the implementation of measures undertaken by the department.
