An International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation currently visiting Sri Lanka is expected to hold a series of discussions today ( 25) with senior representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, and several other government institutions.

Deputy Minister of Finance Dr. Anil Jayantha Fernando said the meetings are being conducted in preparation for the seventh review of Sri Lanka’s IMF-supported economic programme.

According to the Deputy Minister, the discussions will focus on assessing recent economic developments, reviewing the implementation of agreed reforms, and examining outstanding matters related to the programme.

He noted that IMF officials will engage with local authorities to evaluate progress made under the economic recovery framework and gather information required for the upcoming review process.

The visit forms part of the ongoing engagement between Sri Lanka and the IMF as the country continues efforts to stabilize the economy and advance key reform measures.
