The petition was taken up for consideration for the second consecutive day before a bench comprising President of the Court of Appeal Justice Rohantha Abeysuriya and Justice Sarath Dissanayake.
During today’s proceedings, President’s Counsel Romesh de Silva made further submissions on behalf of Rajapaksa in support of the petition.
The application seeks judicial intervention to prevent the former President’s arrest in relation to ongoing investigations into the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks.
The Court of Appeal is expected to continue considering the matter following the submissions presented by counsel.
