The Sri Lankan Parliament is scheduled to meet at 9:30 a.m. today, with proceedings beginning with parliamentary business allocated under Standing Order 22(1) to 22(6) from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

From 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., time has been set aside for Questions for Oral Answers, allowing Members of Parliament to seek responses from the government on matters of public importance.

The session will then move to Questions under Standing Order 27(2) from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The main business of the day will commence at 11:30 a.m., with Parliament scheduled to hold the Second Reading debate on the National Environmental (Amendment) Bill. The debate is expected to continue until 5:00 p.m.

Following the conclusion of the debate, 30 minutes, from 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., have been allocated for Adjournment Time Questions, providing MPs an opportunity to raise additional matters before the House adjourns.

Today's agenda is expected to focus significantly on environmental legislation, with lawmakers set to deliberate on proposed amendments to the country's environmental framework.
