The letter of appointment was formally handed over by Presidential Secretary Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake at the Presidential Secretariat this afternoon (23).
Mr. Jayasekara, a Special Grade officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, was serving as the Secretary to the Uva Provincial Ministry of Sports, Youth Affairs, Tourism, Transport, Cultural Affairs, Textile Industries and Small Industries at the time of his appointment.
Throughout his administrative career, he has held several senior positions, including Secretary to the Uva Provincial Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, Animal Production and Inland Fisheries, Deputy Chief Secretary of the Uva Province, and Secretary to the Uva Provincial Council.
He has also served as Director of the National Leadership Development Centre in Embilipitiya, Commissioner of the Department of Motor Traffic, and Acting Commissioner General of Motor Traffic.
In addition, Mr. Jayasekara has worked as the Divisional Secretary of Monaragala, Thanamalwila, and Siyambalanduwa, gaining extensive experience in public administration and regional governance.
