Accordingly, on June 23, Parliament will debate from 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. the Value Added Tax (Amendment) Bill at its Second Reading. Members will also consider two Orders published in Extraordinary Gazette Nos. 2482/09 and 2487/02 under the Special Commodity Levy Act, as well as regulations published in Extraordinary Gazette No. 2487/29 under the Imports and Exports (Control) Act for approval.

At 5:00 p.m., a Private Member’s Bill titled the Online Safety (Repeal) Bill, presented by MP Ravi Karunanayake, is scheduled to be read for a second time and referred to the Legislative Standing Committee for consideration.
