According to police, the officers had acted on an anonymous tip-off alleging drug trafficking at the residence. During the operation, four young men were arrested on suspicion of possessing narcotics.
Police said the suspects claimed they had no drugs and accused officers of assault. Tensions escalated when a group allegedly demanded the release of two detainees and threatened a plainclothes police officer. After the officer removed a suspect’s handcuffs, he was reportedly attacked by the group.
The injured officers were admitted to hospital for treatment. The suspects involved in the incident are also under police custody while receiving medical treatment. Investigations are ongoing.
