Local Gold Market Records Significant Price Drop

Gold prices in Sri Lanka have declined by approximately Rs. 9,000 following a drop in prices in the international gold market.

According to the latest market rates, the price of a 24-carat gold sovereign has fallen from Rs. 391,000 recorded yesterday (18) to Rs. 382,000 today (19).

The price of a 22-carat gold sovereign has also decreased, dropping from Rs. 359,700 to Rs. 351,500 over the same period.

Meanwhile, the price of gold in the global market was recorded at USD 4,138 per ounce today, contributing to the decline in local gold prices.
