The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has announced that water supply will be suspended in several areas following an emergency rupture in a major water transmission pipeline near the Kadawatha section of the Central Expressway.

According to the NWSDB, the interruption will be in effect from today, June 19, until 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, while repair work is carried out.

The affected areas include:

Mahar Pradeshiya Sabha area

Gampaha Pradeshiya Sabha area

The NWSDB expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to consumers due to the temporary disruption and requested residents in the affected areas to use available water supplies sparingly until normal services are restored.

Repair teams have been deployed, and efforts are underway to complete the restoration work as quickly as possible.
