Former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has filed a petition before the Court of Appeal seeking an order preventing authorities from arresting him under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) in connection with investigations into the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks.
The petition, filed through attorney-at-law Sanath Wijewardena, names the Inspector General of Police, Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Shani Abeysekara, and CID Officer-in-Charge Madhava Gunawardena as respondents.
