Addressing the issue, Police Media Spokesperson Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) F.U. Wootler urged foreign visitors to conduct all currency exchange transactions through government-approved banks or authorised money changers.
He warned that those who exchange money through unauthorised parties could be exposed to counterfeit currency scams and other forms of financial fraud.
Police further stressed that using authorized exchange services is the safest way to avoid becoming victims of illegal activities and financial losses.
