Sri Lanka posted 147 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted 20 overs after winning the toss and electing to bat first against the West Indies in the opening T20 International.

Despite a challenging batting performance, Sri Lanka managed to reach a competitive total of 147/9, with the West Indies bowlers keeping the hosts under pressure throughout the innings.

As a result, the West Indies have been set a target of 148 runs to secure victory in the first T20I.

The visitors will now look to chase down the target and take an early lead in the series, while Sri Lanka's bowlers will aim to defend the total and give their side a winning start.
