According to the Sri Lanka Navy, the visiting vessel was accorded a customary naval welcome upon arrival, in line with longstanding maritime traditions.
INS Sharda, an Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) of the Indian Navy, is commanded by Commander Kartik Sachdeva.
During the ship’s stay in Sri Lanka, its crew will participate in a series of programmes organised by the Sri Lanka Navy to enhance professional cooperation and strengthen ties between the two navies.
The Navy further stated that members of the visiting crew are also expected to tour several key tourist destinations across the country during their visit.
