The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has announced a 12-hour interruption to water supply in several areas to facilitate pipeline relocation work linked to the construction of the Central Expressway.

According to the NWSDB, the water supply will be suspended from 7.00 p.m. on Thursday (11) until 7.00 a.m. on Friday (12).

The temporary water cut will affect the Eldeniya, Gonahena, Webada, Sooriyapaluwa and Udupila Grama Niladhari Divisions within the Mahara Pradeshiya Sabha area.

Water supply will also be disrupted in the Parakandeniya, Kossinna, Abaraluwa, Imbulgoda and Yagoda Grama Niladhari Divisions under the Gampaha Pradeshiya Sabha area.

The NWSDB stated that the interruption is necessary to carry out essential maintenance and water pipeline relocation activities associated with the ongoing Central Expressway project and advised consumers in the affected areas to make prior arrangements.
