The Speaker informed Parliament that he has received the Supreme Court's determination regarding the proposed amendments to the Prevention of Money Laundering Bill.

He stated that the Bill had been challenged before the Supreme Court under Article 121(1) of the Constitution.

According to the Court's determination, all provisions of the Bill can be passed by a simple majority in Parliament, except for the proposed Section 12A contained in Clause 14 of the Bill.

The Supreme Court has ruled that the remaining provisions of the Amendment Bill are consistent with the Constitution and may be enacted with the approval of a simple majority of Members of Parliament.
