The Chairman of the Lanka Private Bus Owners' Association, Gamunu Wijeratne, says the association has decided to limit bus operations from tomorrow (June 8) due to the ongoing controversy surrounding bus fares.

Speaking at a media briefing held in Colombo today, Wijeratne stated that approximately 25% of private buses have already withdrawn from service voluntarily in response to the situation.

He noted that if the dispute remains unresolved, further restrictions on bus operations could be implemented, potentially affecting public transportation services across the country.

The association has urged the relevant authorities to take prompt action to address the issue and prevent further disruptions to passenger transport.
