Ambassador-Designate Saman Chandrasiri assumes duties at Sri Lanka Embassy in Israel

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Israel has warmly welcomed Mr. Saman Chandrasiri, who assumed duties on 4 June 2026 as the Ambassador-designate of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the State of Israel.

 Mr. Chandrasiri's appointment marks the beginning of a new chapter in the longstanding and friendly relations between Sri Lanka and Israel. As Ambassador-designate, he will lead efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation and further promote engagement in areas of mutual interest, including trade, investment, agriculture, technology, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.

The Embassy expressed its confidence in Mr. Chandrasiri's leadership and extensive experience, noting that his tenure will contribute significantly to advancing diplomatic ties and fostering closer collaboration between the two countries.
