The meeting was attended by officials from the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education and representatives of the Department of Examinations.
During the discussion, the Department of Examinations agreed to conduct the Efficiency Bar Examinations for officers of the Sri Lanka Teachers’ Service according to the following schedule:
First Efficiency Bar Examination – September 2026
Second Efficiency Bar Examination – October 2026
Third Efficiency Bar Examination – December 2026
The examinations will be open to officers serving in national and provincial schools throughout Sri Lanka. The decision is expected to facilitate the professional development and career progression of teachers within the Sri Lanka Teachers’ Service.
Further details regarding applications and examination procedures are expected to be announced by the relevant authorities in due course.
