Sri Lanka’s women’s cricket team has left the island to participate in the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, marking the start of a highly anticipated international campaign on the global stage.

The 10th edition of the tournament will be hosted in England and will feature the world’s top cricketing nations competing in a high-intensity format. A total of 12 teams will take part, with the group stage divided into Group A and Group B.

Sri Lanka Women’s National Cricket Team, led by captain Chamari Athapaththu, has been placed in Group B. The team is set to face strong opposition in the preliminary round as they aim to progress deep into the tournament.

Officials and supporters are hopeful that Sri Lanka can deliver a competitive performance and make a strong impact in this global event.
