A Public Day Program aimed at addressing issues faced by local residents and military veterans was held at the Trincomalee District Secretariat under the joint leadership of Deputy Minister of Defense Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd.) and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Employment as well as District Development Committee Chairman Arun Hemachandra, according to the Ministry of Defense.

The programme enabled members of the veteran community and the public to directly raise concerns, complaints, and development-related matters with government authorities.

During the discussions, the Deputy Ministers reviewed a number of issues presented by participants and directed the relevant officials to take prompt and appropriate action to resolve them.

The event was attended by senior government officials, representatives of local government institutions, and other relevant stakeholders.
