The discussion was attended by Anuradhapura District Secretary Ranjith Wimalasooriya, representatives of the security forces, and officials from several government institutions.
Special attention was given to security arrangements within the sacred city of Anuradhapura during the Poson season. Authorities announced that approximately 3,500 police personnel will be deployed to ensure the safety and security of devotees and visitors attending religious activities.
Officials also emphasized that the operation of “dansal” will only be permitted after obtaining the necessary approvals from the relevant authorities.
Addressing the meeting, District Secretary Ranjith Wimalasooriya called on pilgrims and visitors to act responsibly and help protect the environment during the Poson celebrations. He stressed the importance of maintaining cleanliness and preserving the sacred city’s surroundings throughout the festival period.
