Cabinet approves Sri Lanka–China tourism education MoU

The Cabinet has approved a proposal presented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management and the Central Academy of Culture and Tourism Administration of the People’s Republic of China.

The proposed agreement aims to establish a policy framework for institutional cooperation in areas including academic exchange, vocational training, joint research, faculty development, and knowledge sharing. The Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management, operating under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism, has initiated collaboration with the Chinese institution to strengthen partnerships in the tourism and hospitality sector.

The draft MoU, which includes observations from the Attorney General, has been prepared to formalize this cooperation.
