The luxury bus service operating between the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake and the Makumbura Multimodal Transport Center has been resumed effective today (01).

This initiative is jointly implemented by Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (AandASL) Company and the Road Passenger Transport Authority, under the guidance and direction of the Ministry of Transport, Highways, and Urban Development, alongside the Ministry of Ports and Civil Aviation.

To ensure a high-quality service, comprehensive and specialized training programs have been conducted for the drivers and conductors assigned to this route, with all necessary arrangements finalized to maximize passenger convenience.

The revived service will offer swift and comfortable transit for commuters traveling to and from the airport and the Makumbura hub. Passengers can avail themselves of this service at a one-way fare of Rs. 410, with the total travel time estimated at approximately 50 minutes. The buses are scheduled to operate every 45 minutes from 5:15 AM to 6:30 PM daily.

The resumption of this service provides commuters with a highly convenient, reliable, and efficient transport alternative.
