During the meeting, Foreign Minister listened to concerns and views expressed by Sri Lankans living abroad while also briefing attendees on key policy decisions taken by the current Government and its plans for the country’s future development.
The Foreign Minister expressed gratitude for the support and confidence shown by overseas Sri Lankans and assured them that the Government would continue working to maintain that trust.
He further noted that the strong public response to the event reflected the keen interest of the Sri Lankan diaspora in the country’s future progress and governance.
Herath, who is currently on an official visit to Australia, is expected to participate in several other engagements and meet Sri Lankan communities in additional Australian cities during his visit.
