Authorities have issued a warning for sea areas extending from Mullaitivu to Kalpitiya via Kankesanthurai and Mannar, as well as from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota, due to adverse weather conditions.
Wind speeds in these coastal waters are expected to intermittently increase up to 60–65 km/h, causing rough to very rough sea conditions at times.
Fishermen and naval communities operating in these regions have been advised to remain vigilant and take necessary safety precautions when engaging in fishing and maritime activities.
