Former Minister Wimal Weerawansa, who was arrested earlier today (25) by the Sri Lanka Police officers attached to the Thalangama Police, has been granted bail by the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court.
The court ordered his release on a surety bail of Rs. 500,000.
Weerawansa had been taken into custody this morning after arriving at the Thalangama Police Station to provide a statement regarding a recent incident reported near the National War Heroes’ Monument in Battaramulla.
