The registered players represent all International Cricket Council (ICC) Full Member nations as well as several Associate Member countries. However, following a special screening process, only around 310 players will be shortlisted for the player draft scheduled to take place on June 1.
Players from 21 countries have signed up for this year’s tournament. Among the ICC Full Member nations, the highest number of registrations has come from Pakistan, South Africa, the West Indies, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, New Zealand, Australia, and England.
According to the released figures, Pakistan leads the list with 102 players, followed by the West Indies with 75, South Africa with 66, Bangladesh with 48, New Zealand with 41, Australia with 24, England with 15, and India with 12 players registered.
In addition, among the Associate Member nations, the United States of America (USA), the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Ireland have recorded the highest number of player registrations.
The Lanka Premier League 2026, Sri Lanka’s premier domestic Twenty20 cricket tournament, is scheduled to be held from July 17 to August 8.
