Adverse weather conditions have caused flood situations around the Katunayake Airport area. Because many roads leading to the airport are currently flooded, passengers are advised to arrive at the airport at least 4 hours before their flight departure time.
Airport authorities have also requested the public to use the Colombo–Katunayake Expressway as much as possible when travelling to the airport.
At present, the Naikanda area near Katunayake Airport has been submerged due to flooding, while the Kovinna area is also experiencing flood conditions.
