Sri Lanka has raised serious concerns over the reported drone attack targeting the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in the United Arab Emirates, warning that any damage to nuclear facilities could endanger civilians across the region.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sri Lanka emphasized that such incidents are especially alarming given the large number of expatriates living in the Middle East, including thousands of Sri Lankans.
The Foreign Ministry stated that threats to nuclear infrastructure could result in severe consequences for civilian safety as well as regional stability.
Sri Lanka also urged all parties involved in the conflict to act with restraint and to pursue dialogue and diplomatic solutions amid escalating tensions in the region.
The statement was issued against the backdrop of growing concerns over instability in the Middle East and its possible implications for regional security and civilian populations.
