A new visa regulation will come into effect from May 25 for all Maldivian nationals traveling to Sri Lanka for tourism purposes.
Accordingly, Maldivian citizens will be required to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) through www.eta.gov.lk prior to arriving in Sri Lanka.
This was announced in a statement issued by the Sri Lanka High Commission in the Maldives.
However, the statement further noted that Maldivian nationals who register through the system will be granted a 90-day tourist visa free of charge.
