He was further told that during the meeting, Pillayan had allegedly been informed that steps would be taken to secure his bail within a week of Gotabaya Rajapaksa assuming power.
Deputy Solicitor General Peiris stated that the information was revealed based on a statement obtained from Pillayan’s former private secretary, Asad Maulana.
It was also disclosed before court that Maulana, who is currently residing in France, had provided the statement at the Sri Lankan Embassy in France.
