The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation says the country currently has sufficient fuel stocks to meet demand until August.

CPC Managing Director Mayura Netthikumarage stated that fuel procurement orders have already been arranged up to November this year.

He said a vessel carrying 90,000 metric tonnes of crude oil is expected to arrive in Sri Lanka on the 28th of this month from the United States.

Another shipment of crude oil is also scheduled to reach the country on the 31st of this month, according to the CPC.

Netthikumarage further noted that fuel consumption in the country has declined at present.
