The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has temporarily suspended all document authentication services following an unexpected technical failure in the Electronic Document Attestation System (e-DAS).

In an official statement, the Ministry said that services at the main Consular Affairs Division in Battaramulla, as well as regional consular offices in Jaffna, Trincomalee, Kandy, Matara, and Kurunegala, have been affected by the disruption.

The Ministry noted that it is currently working closely with the relevant technical service providers to restore the e-DAS system as soon as possible and resume normal operations.

Applicants who have already booked appointments online have been advised to closely monitor the “e-Channeling” system for further updates and notifications regarding their appointments and services.

The Ministry further stated that all applicants will be informed immediately once the system is restored and regular services recommence.

Meanwhile, the Consular Affairs Division expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to the public due to the sudden system outage.
