As part of the visit, the President will take part in District Coordination Committee meetings and several development-related activities in the two districts.
During the Batticaloa visit on May 20, President Dissanayake is expected to attend the District Coordination Committee meeting at the old District Secretariat auditorium before joining the “Ratama Ekata” national initiative focused on combating drug abuse at the Batticaloa Weber Stadium.
On May 22, the President will travel to Ampara to lay the foundation stone for the proposed Nintavur Cultural Centre and ceremonially commence construction work on a new shopping complex in Ampara town.
The visit is scheduled to conclude with the President’s participation in the Ampara District Coordination Committee meeting at the District Secretariat auditorium.
