Community Medical Specialist at the National Dengue Control Unit, Dr. Prasheela Samaraweera, stated that 15 dengue-related deaths have also been recorded in 2026.
She urged the public to take continuous precautions to prevent mosquito breeding and minimize the spread of dengue.
Dr. Samaraweera further emphasized the importance of maintaining clean surroundings, properly disposing of waste and removing stagnant water sources to reduce the risk of dengue transmission.
